Meet Kayla Contreras
Kayla’s approach to design is rooted in a lifelong fascination with the feeling of home. Having spent years observing how physical spaces influence the ways people live and gather, she developed a design philosophy that prioritizes interiors meant to invite people in and encourage connection.
After earning a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture and Design, Kayla spent a decade within high-end residential design studios, establishing a strong foundation in functional planning and technical precision. Over time, her experience deepened into a profound appreciation for spaces layered with nostalgic undertones and heirloom-quality elements that feel deeply personal rather than trend-driven.
In 2025, Kayla founded Mabel Lane as a reflection of that perspective. By weaving personal narratives into the earliest planning stages of every project, she ensures her clients’ most essential spaces support the realities of daily life while cultivating a sense of belonging that grows richer over time.
